On Saturday (6 March, 15:30 CET), FC Augsburg will travel to the capital city to face Hertha BSC. The Fuggerstädters will be looking to build on their points cushion at the bottom. Head coach Heiko Herrlich and midfield man André Hahn made their aims of leaving Berlin with three points very clear during Friday’s press conference.

Last Sunday, FC Augsburg were able to take all three points home from Mainz with a 1-0 win, giving themselves some breathing space at the foot of the table. For André Hahn in particular, the last game in Mainz had a lot of positives. It was his first-half goal which proved to be the winner. The midfielder attributes his performance to good preparation. He is also extremely grateful to the coaching team and his family for the "incredible support" they have shown him. FCA head coach Heiko Herrlich is also very pleased with Hahn’s performances on the pitch: "André is not only making a difference with his footballing abilities, but also through his character. He shows heart and identifies with this football club. His passion rubs off on the other players."

Things are not looking good for FCA’s next opponents, Hertha BSC. The Berlin boys are currently 15th in the table, level on points with Arminia Bielefeld in the relegation playoff spot. Pál Dárdai’s team are under enormous pressure, according to the man himself. FCA’s boss, Heiko Herrlich, will not let this unsettle him. In his opinion: "We have played really well in our last few games and we have to make sure we do so again in Berlin. We need to concentrate on our own game and give everything. Our job is to win football games and we definitely want to take all three points home with us on Saturday."

Hahn: "We want three points in Berlin!"

On Saturday, keeping Hertha’s attackers "under control" will be a decisive factor, as Herrlich put it. He also reiterated the importance of turning defence into attack quickly. A lot of work has been done on set-pieces in training, in order to make the team even more dangerous in this area. Herrlich is satisfied with his team’s defensive displays: "We’re incredibly strong at the back – we’ve not conceded any goals from corners or free-kicks all season." There have been no changes to the situation regarding squad personnel: Alfred Finnbogason, Frederik Jensen, Iago, Jan Morávek and Tim Civeja all remain unavailable for selection.

Herrlich and Hahn are both grateful that they can practice their profession and feel privileged to be doing so in the current climate. Nevertheless, they both miss the fans dearly. Even looking back to the 2-0 win at home to Borussia Dortmund in September, when 6,000 fans were permitted into the WWK ARENA: "It’s a lot easier to play with the support of the fans," said Hahn, adding that he will "do everything to get the three points in Berlin for them."
