For two years, FC Augsburg were unable to play any friendlies in front of the fans. This season, the club are looking forward to welcoming back the fans for several friendlies in the surrounding region. FCA will also host a training camp in Austria.

'“We weren’t able to have our fans with us for a long time due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which is why we are very happy to now be able to organise friendlies once again. We have made the conscious choice to play most of them in the surrounding area,” said sporting director Stefan Reuter.

FCA to play friendly against Schwaben Augsburg

FCA will also take part in a training camp in Scheffau, Austria, from Sunday, 10th July to Monday, 18th July. Head coach Enrico Maaßen will be looking to prepare his team for the upcoming season with some intense pre-season sessions.

The competitive season will begin with the first-round DFB-Pokal encounter against Regionalliga side TuS Blau-Weiß Lohne (Sunday, 31st July at 15:30 CEST). Prior to that, FCA are inviting all their fans to a ‘Diversity Day’ at the WWK ARENA. Maaßen’s side will face French first-tier side Stade Rennes in a friendly on Saturday, 23rd July (15:30 CEST). As in previous years, season ticket holders will be able to attend the match for free. Information about ticket sales and other news about the Diversity Day will be released by the club in due course.

Public training sessions to resume

After the pandemic forced the club to stop hosting public training sessions, FCA fans will now be able to watch their team train once again. The full list of public training sessions will be published here.

Information on ticket sales for the friendlies will be released by the club in the coming weeks, as they become available.
